Expressions of interest – studio space available in Toi Auaha
Room 5, $78.50 p/w for one person (studio can be shared by two people for $105 p/w), includes power and wi-fi – situated on the first floor, 11 sqm (see attached floorplan for details)
Expressions of interest are being sought from artists and creatives for a private studio space in Toi Auaha, the Christchurch City Council’s community arts hub. Located in the central city at 5 Worcester Boulevard, Toi Auaha was established in 2022 as a much-needed studio hub, which is now home to 16 artists and creatives. The hub also comprises Te Tari Toi, the CCC’s arts office, a large bookable community space with kitchen, and the Green Room artist run space.
Initial terms of lease are one year + one year, with the option to extend for a third year following negotiation. The space is sunny, south-facing and includes a ceiling-mounted heater. The studio would suit a range of creative practices, however, as the studio is situated inside a heritage building there are limitations in terms of wet work and hot work.
