Volunteer Opportunity: Tour Guides – Ngaio Marsh House & Heritage Trust
Are you passionate about heritage, the arts, or the legacy of one of New Zealand’s most renowned creative figures? The Ngaio Marsh House and Heritage Trust is currently seeking volunteer Tour Guides to join our dedicated team.
Located in Christchurch, the home of Dame Ngaio Marsh – celebrated crime writer, theatrical director, and artist – offers visitors a unique insight into her life and work. Our tour guides play a vital role in bringing that story to life.
As a Tour Guide, you will:
Welcome and engage with visitors from New Zealand and around the world
Share insights about Dame Ngaio Marsh’s home, garden, and creative achievements
• Captivate and educate visitors with your warm personality and confident communication skills to provide a unique experience
Lead 1-hour tours on Tuesdays (10:30am & 12 noon), Saturdays, and Sundays (2:00pm) for a maximum of 10 people per tour
• Receive full induction and ongoing support from experienced team members
This is an ideal role for individuals with a genuine interest in literature, history, theatre, or the arts — or simply those who enjoy meeting people and sharing stories in a beautiful and inspiring environment.
