Nau mai, tomo mai!

Te Whare Tapere invites you to their first curated exhibition of the year: He Wāhanga nō te Kōrero.

Opening this Turei / Tuesday, 28 April, 5:30pm.

He Wāhanga nō te Kōrero brings together five ringatoi Māori working across five practices, each responding to a korero of their choosing. Space is held for each artist to interpret this in their own way, guided by their own whakaaro, intuition and experience.

Working across fibre, painting, photography, digital and mixed media, these mahi toi sit in relation to one another.

Not held within a single narrative, but acknowledging the depth and continuity of körero. In this way, the Whare holds a conversation, each piece a wahanga – a part, chapter or extension – of the körero to which it responds.

E mihi nui ana ki ngã ringatoi tokorima nei. A huge mihi to our five artists:

Abigail Hau, Antonia De Lautour, Max Tiweka, Sierra Bright, Vanilla Martin.

Thank you for your beautiful mahi toi.

Hei te Turei, see you Tuesday!
