This workshop will invite attendees to consider street art’s potential within the urban landscape – contextualised within the global histories of urban art practice and the specifics of Ōtautahi’s physical and social networks.
The concept of a street art incubator is unique – street art has not traditionally been placed within an industry framework and instead has celebrated the unlimited possibilities of expression – risk the primary limitation. Today, the embrace of street art makes it possible to dream of increasingly diverse approaches to urban creativity.
This workshop will consider the definitions of the varied threads of urban art practice, while also encouraging and supporting the development of ideas – taking a collaborative approach to consider how concepts might be brought to life in the urban landscape.
