The internationally recognised and award-winning website Arts and Letters Daily, founded in Christchurch, has been a mainstay of cultural matters since the late Denis Dutton, a professor of philosophy at Canterbury University co-founded the site in 1998

The site links to the best art criticism, book reviews, essays, political and other writing ideas across the web and the site secured Dutton a place among ‘the most influential media personalities in the world – as described by Time Magazine.

The University of Canterbury’s Erin Harrington hosts an informative and entertaining website, Flat City Field Notes, which looks at arts and culture in Ōtautahi.

The University of Canterbury’s College of Arts also has a dedicated blog with updates, news, views and events. The College of Arts is a broad college that incorporates everything from politics to fine arts and is a wealth of information.
