Art plays a role in navigating society’s response to the climate crisis, but its environmental impacts can also mean it’s part of the problem. Join James Tapsell-Kururangi, Director of Physics Room, for an introduction to practical sustainability tools and approaches developed by the Gallery Climate Coalition (GCC), helping artists and galleries reduce their environmental impact. To register, book here.

Founded in 2020, the GCC works to create an environmentally responsible art world. With more than 1,300 members globally, including Physics Room here in Ōtautahi, the coalition provides guidance and resources to support its goal of halving the art sector’s carbon emissions and achieving near-zero waste by 2030.

Workshop schedule: Doors will open at 5.15pm. The workshop will start at 5.30pm sharp and take 60-90 minutes. If you cannot attend the whole workshop, you are welcome to come for as much as you can. Pēpi and tamariki are always welcome to attend with you!
