Tiny Fest is a platform for radical performance makers to shake things up.
Tiny Fest is fast becoming known for its epic two-day event with over 45 artists and back to back shows but for the first time Tiny Fest has commissioned a new stand alone choreographic work:
P E R M A N E N T D I S T R A C T I O N by Josie Archer and Kosta Bogoievski at The Piano, 7.30pm 8 & 9 July Get up close and personal with some of Aotearoa’s most exciting voices as they take risks, push boundaries, and break new ground. If you love performance and crave real and raw exchange that sparks your imagination, Permanent Distraction will float your boat. Archer and Bogoievski are at the top of their game, having worked with Aldous Harding, Footnote Dance Company, New Zealand Dance Company, and they are based right here in Ōtautahi Christchurch. Permanent Distraction features Archer, Bogoievski, as well as Olivia McGregor fresh from Berlin, and Sydney-based David Huggins. Bent on wrangling an expansive series of episodes, acts, and relational exercises into an intuitive cohesion, the dancers navigate the alps of imaginative terrain, encountering the sublime in the minimalist and the carnal in the maximalist. Expect rule breaking, horses, and astro turf. A precarious gathering of performance happenings, Permanent Distraction will draw you into a world of intuition and primal action. |
