Florilegium
Sarah Anderson & Megan Huffadine
Dates 29 Oct- 30 Nov – Chamber Gallery Rangiora
(A Florilegium is a collection of botanical drawings of plants, sometimes representing all the plants in a specific garden. This practice dates back to the 15th century. With the development of printing artists were commissioned to record plants for individuals or botanic gardens which were then published in books. Contemporary Florilegia are often used to record collections of endangered species. In these works, urns become the carrier of real and imagined plants drawn from my painting and sculptural works.)
