Drawing Connections – Exploring the architecture of Cecil Wood (9 March – 19 May)
A new exhibition using the architectural drawings of Cecil Wood to explore the cultural and historical context of Ōtautahi’s built environment.
Exploring the architectural legacy of Cecil Wood, this exhibition showcases a selection of superb interwar architectural drawings from the collections of Macmillan Brown Library and Tūranga.
Wood’s apprentice, renowned architect Sir Miles Warren, gifted many of the drawings to University of Canterbury’s Library Archives. Seldom displayed, these drawings reveal Wood’s artistic skill and architectural evolution.
This exhibition is a partnership between Christchurch City Libraries, University of Canterbury Libraries and the University of Canterbury Art History Department.
