The Auricle Listening Lounge at Toi Auaha is a relaxed, welcoming space for anyone with an interest in sonic art, experimental, improvised, or unconventional music: both makers and the curious.
Held in the comfortable Toi Auaha lounge, this informal gathering happens every second Thursday of the month between 6.30-8.30pm.
It’s a place to listen to each other’s ideas and projects, converse, and catch up with like-minded folk. Bring along a short, recorded excerpt from one of your own projects, or any music that’s been inspiring you, to play through the sound system. No pressure to bring anything though if you’d prefer to just hang out.
Things kick off soon after 6.30pm, often with artists sharing material and more focused listening at the start, before easing into informal conversation and the sharing of music (digital via Bluetooth or a mixer, and vinyl). Feel free to drop in any time until 8.30pm. A gold coin donation toward room hire is appreciated. BYO snacks and drinks.
2026’s first Listening Lounge takes place on 12 February! See you there!
