Raised in Ōtautahi, Amelie moved abroad to Amsterdam in 2021 to continue her passion for jazz and double bass. Now, at the beginning of her development as a songwriter, she embarks on a new journey as an indie-folk musician.
Inspired by the likes of Adrienne Lenker, Joni Mitchell and Aldous Harding, Amelie’s songs aim to realise an intimate folk music experience.
Her debut EP breathes sentimentality and turbulence that moving away from home and growing older inspires. In that sense, this collection of songs forms a musical diary, speaking of isolation and finding comfort in the unknown.
In wistful guitar playing, a gentle voice and poetic melodies, her songs hold a vulnerable power and mark the beginning of a journey.
