During Art as Therapy sessions, participants explore exhibitions at Christchurch Art Gallery Te Puna o Waiwhetū through slow looking and guided prompts from facilitators, spending time with artworks and discovering their own personal connections and interpretations.
In a welcoming, relaxed atmosphere, participants then take part in an art-making session in the Education Centre, where they can express their responses through their own creative process.
No previous art experience is needed — just curiosity and a willingness to explore! All art materials are provided. Sessions are facilitated by creative arts therapists.
