Rebecca Robin Releases Haere Rā

Haere Rā is a deeply personal bilingual waiata born from Rebecca Robin’s journey deeper into Te Ao Māori and the experience of her first karanga.

That moment became central to the waiata — an expression of reconnection, whakapapa, identity and finding confidence in her own voice. Drawing on the movement from Te Pō toward Te Ao Mārama, Haere Rā explores transition and transformation: moving through darkness, change and uncertainty toward greater understanding and light.

Produced by Henare Kaa, the song developed through Rebecca’s mentorship with Henare in waiata Reo Māori, while the kaupapa, story and perspective remain grounded in Rebecca’s own lived experience.

Haere Rā marks an important point in Rebecca’s artistic journey and forms part of a wider album
currently in development.
