Come and see the work displayed here which will show you what a quilt can be.
200 works have been selected based on excellence, artistic merit and diversity of approach. You’ll find figurative and abstract, conventional and nonconventional, traditional and avant-garde, exercises in pattern and colour and more complex conceptual pieces as well as personal and political statements.
The exhibitions also cover work by leading tutors from the USA, The Netherlands, Australia and New Zealand as well as a retrospective exhibition by renowned Christchurch Quilter Sue Spigel.
This event only happens in Christchurch about every ten years so it’s an opportunity to see the very best on display. Run over 6 days you can come as often as you like – single day entry $15 or multi day $25. Children 12 and under are free.
There is also the opportunity to visit the Merchants Mall to be enticed by 23 businesses. It is free entry to the Merchants Mall.
