UNTITLED is a new temporary creative space by Life in Vacant Spaces (LiVS). The space, continually changing hands over the next seven weeks now proudly welcomes Urban Foraging Studio.
Urban Foraging Studio combines art, nature and heritage for experiences that are equal part creative and therapeutic. Utilising traditional methods and natural materials, Urban Foraging Studio presents a range of workshops that will spark creativity, relaxation and a sense of groundedness to their participants. The workshops are all beginner friendly, with materials provided – play and experimentation is very welcomed at Urban Foraging Studio!
Offerings over their week’s residency include:
Eco Painting on Canvas Workshops:
In this workshop you will create your own abstract canvas with natural colours, reflecting that perfect feeling you want to anchor. Explore symbols and marks that have a special meaning to you, choose colours to suit your interior, or express intuitively felt ideas and leave with your very original work.
Natural Colour Immersion Workshops:
Immerse in the grounding experience of natural colour. Enjoy the relaxing process of creating natural dyes, whilst learning new traditional dying techniques and how to extract colour from fallen leaves. Finally, take home an upcycled paper book with your dye experiments and all the knowledge you need to try it from home!
Kids Wreath Workshop:
Something for the kids!! This workshop is not only a chance for children to make their own wreath, they will also learn about sustainable foraging and organic flower growing. This after school activity combines a creative outlet whilst guiding children through simple lessons about the natural world.
