In March the region topped ASB’s Regional Economic Scoreboard for the second quarter in a row – that’s a survey that showed Canterbury outperformed the rest of the country in nearly every measure, including employment, retail spending, housing activity and population growth.
And that’s not all, Christchurch was the only New Zealand city to get a look in at the recent Happy City Index, coming in at 32nd place and earning a “gold”. So what’s going on in the garden city? And can Auckland and Wellington get some?
