Please join Ngāi Tūāhuriri, curator Cora-Allan, the Christchurch Art Gallery Te Puna o Waiwhetū team, and the exhibiting artists to celebrate the opening of our new exhibition Made in the Pacific: A Collection of Tāoga.

A selection of Pacific tāoga from the Canterbury Museum in conversation with contemporary artworks that highlight the continued strength in culture and traditional art forms.

Featuring contemporary works by Louisa Afoa, Serene Hodgman, Jimmy Ma’ia’i, Sue Pearson, Pauline Reynolds and Doron Riki-Semu.

Cora-Allan and Hatesa Seumanutafa discuss never before exhibited treasures on display in Made in the Pacific: A Collection of Tāoga.

Workshops:
Sunday 29 March, 11am – 1pm / $25

Artists Doron Riki-Semu, Sue Pearson and Serene Hodgman blend traditional methods with contemporary art. Try ribbon weaving, textile printing and barkcloth beating. Bookings essential.
