Team Leader Events Production – Open for applications now!

Let’s continue to create a vibrant city through memorable events. We now have an opportunity to join the Events & Arts team.

We are looking for an event professional to provide leadership for the Events Production Team who produce high-quality large-scale community events that achieve high levels of public satisfaction such as NYE celebrations, Summer Sundays, Sparks and Winter Fireworks

As a team we do what it takes to get the job done, we work together to find solutions, and you will pave the way and continue to make Ōtautahi a creative, events-friendly city, as set out in the Community Events Implementation Plan with alignment to Toi Ōtautahi our city arts strategy

In this role:

  • You will deliver large-scale community events.
  • Manage relationships with event suppliers.
  • Write health and safety plans and manage budgets.
  • Provide specialist advice to the immediate team, as well as other parts of the Council.
  • Key attributes include contributing to a positive team culture and developing efficient and effective event management processes and strategies.

About you:

  • You will have at least 4 years of practical experience in the events industry.
  • Proven recent leadership experience within events, or a large organisation.
  • Have a strong understanding of health and safety management and processes.
  • Ideally, you’ll have an outgoing nature, with a strong sense of responsibility and reliability.

Event industry knowledge will set you up for success in this leadership role as you support event organisers to deliver memorable events for the community.

Additional information:

  • Hours of Work: Full-time, permanent.
  • Location: This position is primarily based at Te Hononga Civic Offices, 53 Hereford Street.
  • Salary: The salary range for this position is $93,200 to $103,556. Starting salaries will be based on the knowledge, skills and experience the successful candidate brings to the role, and relativities both, within the immediate team and in the broader organisation for the same or similar roles.
