As we head into the Winter months – it’s a good time to check out all the local craftspeople and artisans showing their wares at one of the many markets around the city.

This weekend is a boon for market goers – with craft markets open around the town.

Here are a few to check out:


Sumner Artisan Market

Welcome to the Sumner Artisan Market. Bigger and brighter – supporting locals and their creations.
Still held the first Saturday of every month, but a new time of 12pm – 2pm.
Everything will always be ‘Handcrafted, handmade, & homegrown’.
Some things you’ll see over the coming months are art, ceramics, natural skin care, dried flower wreaths and posy’s, cards, photography, plants & much more!

Mt Pleasant Art & Craft Market

At the Mt Pleasant Art & Craft Market you will find unique, high quality hand crafted items including jewellery, prints, greeting cards, wooden products, pottery, glass art, handmade soap and balms, candles and other creative items. New and re-imagined products.

Christchurch’s longest running vintage market held in and around the historic Rochester Villa circa 1860, in Woolston, Christchurch.
