[Crisis Call] was a community arts project run by Josiah Morgan.

It was the outcome of a Toi Ōtautahi residency supported by the Christchurch City Council, taking place at the Nurses’ Memorial Chapel between April – June 2022.

This PDF acts as a digital archive of the material residency, which can be viewed at the chapel during regular opening hours.

The project asked members of Ōtautahi communities, especially students and nurses, to engage in Dada writing methods.

These methods included cut-up and blackout. The finished work interrogates archival material from Archives New Zealand and Tūranga, reflecting on the relationship between past and present using the physical building, the chapel itself, as a locus point.
