Nathan Joe is a Chinese-Kiwi playwright and performance poet. His writing has met with much acclaim and he has been the recipient of both the Bruce Mason Playwriting Award and the National Slam Poetry Championship.
He was also one of the 2020 Ursula Bethell Writers-in-Residence and is fast building his reputation as one of Aotearoa’s fastest rising literary stars.
As part of Year of the Arts, Toi Ōtautahi commissioned poems from local writers, including this one from Nathan Joe.
