Calling innovative Creative Arts Producers
In an exciting period of transformation Te Matatiki Toi Ora The Arts Centre is seeking a Creative Producer to assist the creative team to smoothly and effectively produce creative programmes and projects, festivals, joint ventures with arts companies, partnerships and events for external stakeholders and clients.
This is a full-time role, with the requirement for flexibility, as programmes and events can run during evenings and weekends.
You will use your imagination, administration skills and networks in the arts and creative industries to take ideas and concepts forward and make them a reality. This involves everything from contributing to generating ideas, assembling the right people, gathering the right resources, booking spaces, preparing contracts, managing budgets, balancing revenue generation with enabling artists and creatives to use venues at the Centre, to seeing projects and events through to production stage and dealing with post-production follow-up.
About us
Te Matatiki Toi Ora The Arts Centre is creating a hub for diverse creative expression in the heart of Ōtautahi, Christchurch. Over two-thirds of the Centre has now been rebuilt, strengthened, and restored after the devastating earthquakes of 2010-2011. We care for our heritage buildings as a place where creative endeavours and entrepreneurship can thrive. By the end of 2022 all but two of the 22 stone buildings will be restored and in use.
Our vision is to be a centre of the arts – stimulating and celebrating our diverse communities by restoring memories and creating futures. Our purpose is to foster, promote, facilitate, and encourage the interest of art, culture, education, and other creative interests, in particular through the provision of accommodation for these activities.
You will:
- Possess a level of Te Reo and have knowledge of Te Ao Māori and Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
- Use your knowledge of, and networks within, the arts and creative industries to ensure that our own, partner and external activities maximise and celebrate the unique site as a cultural asset.
- Have exceptional project management, planning and organisational skills, and be comfortable balancing multiple priorities and programmes.
- Facilitate and manage all bookings and venue hires using The Arts Centre’s digital tools ensuring all bookings are current and users are very satisfied with the service The Arts Centre provides.
- Be skilled at managing stakeholder, supplier and client relationships and developing partnerships. You will positively represent Te Matatiki Toi Ora.
- Possess the ability to think innovatively and creatively, applying new concepts and ideas to evolve new opportunities to support the local and regional creative ecosystem.
- Demonstrate a growth mind-set, and you’re calm under pressure and are known for being empathetic, open, and collaborative.
- Experience in a similar role and/or relevant tertiary qualification.
- Have a current “my vaccine pass”.
- Legal right to work in New Zealand.
If this sounds like you, we’d love to hear from you.
