‘Berlin Burlesque’ at LAF this Summer: Circus, Theatre and Blinding Success
Step into the intriguing world of ‘Berlin Burlesque’ at LAF this Summer, as the ‘Lyttelton Circus Theatre Company’ weaves history and spectacle in a dazzling tapestry of 1930s Berlin, contrasted with contemporary theatre.
A dynamic aerial set, mesmerising circus acts, seductive performances, and a live band take you on an immersive journey via the story of Erik Jan Hanussen. He was a mentalist and variety theatre owner in 1930’s Berlin who, despite his Jewish heritage, had instructed Hitler in performance and the art of dramatic effect. Hanussen was a prophet, but being blinded by his own success, could not foresee his own demise.
Berlin Burlesque at LAF from the 17th Jan to the 10th Feb (Wed – Sat weekly).
